About us

With only nineteen years old, Gustavo Varela decided to create Nortimaco.

We were in 1985 and it was a decision based on the opportunities that were appearing with the growth of the textile industry in the Ave river valley.

This particular area of Portugal has a secular tradition in the textile industry, and History shows that its development was mostly based on this business.

With more and more companies producing all kind of textile goods, there was the need for reliable suppliers of industrial machinery, parts, accessories and technical support with quality.

Nortimaco grew based on these orientation principles:

More recently, in 2005, Nortimaco changed its facilities to a more modern efficient building.

It has better conditions for repairs; better access for clients, with parking spaces and quick access to all main highways; a larger show room with more machines; and a spare parts room with more choice.
